On Tuesday afternoon, October 20, at 4 PM Phoenix time, Arizona Glass Alliance, together with the sponsorship and cooperation of La Guilde 1906 of Montreal, Canada, will proudly host a virtual presentation by Susan Edgerley. Susan is one of Canada’s most renowned glass artists and, since 1984, has created collections of both large scale and residential size pieces, often including mixed media. Susan’s work has been exhibited in the U.S. and Canada, Europe and Asia, and is represented in many prestigious collections and museums, such as the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Susan’s work is currently included in the exhibition at La Guilde 1906, www.laguilde.com, and we thank La Guilde for their sponsorship of this presentation.
One reviewer described Susan’s work this way: “From her very first series, Susan Edgerley revealed what were to be her prominent and central themes: the contradictions found in all existence, the ephemeral quality of life and the passage of time. In her vision, glass is used as a metaphor, fragile yet enduring, unfolding in her works in astonishing eloquence and poetically combining with many different materials.” An image of one of Susan’s recent pieces is shown below, and to see more of her work please take a look at her website, www.susanedgerleyglass.com.
In addition to Susan’s presentation, you’ll be able to ask questions as part of this live Zoom event, and you get to see your Arizona Glass Alliance friends. To receive your Zoom link please respond by return email, and if you haven’t yet downloaded Zoom to your computer, laptop or tablet now would be a good time to do so.
