On Sunday evening, Arizona Glass Alliance will very happily host a presentation by the well known and very creative glass artist Jen Violette. A graduate of Alfred University’s School of Art and Design, Jen has been a featured guest artist at the Corning Glass Amphitheater as well as a stint teaching at Corning and the featured artist on the Corning stage at SOFA Chicago. Jen’s work is exhibited at galleries across the country, including such well known names as Schantz Gallery in Stockbridge, Habatat Galleries, Duncan McClellan in St. Petersburg and Montague Gallery in San Francisco.
Jen says this about her work: “My work is greatly inspired by the natural world. I spend a lot of time outside in nature, both gardening and exploring the forests near my rural Vermont home and studio. I have always been fascinated by nature’s unique and ever changing colors, textures and forms, and am passionate about using molten glass to recreate these subtle details”.
One of Jen’s current pieces is shown below, and to see more of her work and learn more about her please take a look at her website, www.jenviolette.com.
