Glass sculptor Carol Milne is known especially for her pioneering knitted glass. Carol was originally trained as a landscape architect, but soon realized that her real interest was sculpture (her senior thesis was titled “Landscape as Art/Art as Landscape). Starting in glass at the Pratt Fine Arts Center in 2000, Carol became the pioneer of knitted glass in 2006, and has never looked back. She now travels widely to such exotic places as Istanbul and Tasmania teaching her technique, as well many places in the US, and this summer will be teaching at the Corning Museum of Glass.
Carol’s work can be seen at museums across the country as well Japan and Germany. Recently her work was honored at exhibitions in Korea and Japan, and a piece was purchased by the new glass museum, Musee Verre, in Sars-Potteries, France. Carol’s work is instantly recognizable for its’ unique “knitted” quality. One of Carol’s current pieces is shown below, and she will be bringing some of her new work with her for display and possible sale. For more information about Carol, and to see more of her work, take a look at her website, www.carolmilne.com. Carol is very graciously extending a 10% discount to members of Arizona Glass Alliance for all purchases made during January either at the presentation or from her website, as well as free crating and shipping.
