On Monday evening Marshall Gallery of Scottsdale, one of our member galleries, will host a private reception and presentation by the well known cast glass artist Anna Boothe for members of Arizona Glass Alliance. This private event will be in advance of the opening of an exhibition Marshall Gallery is mounting of new work by Anna.
With degrees in sculpture and glass from Rhode Island School of Design and Tyler School of Art, Anna Boothe has worked with glass since 1980. Her primarily kiln-cast sculptural and decorative works have been exhibited at the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum, the Museum of American Glass and the Kentucky Museum of Art and Design, and are included in the permanent collections of the Corning Museum of Glass and the Tacoma Museum of Art.
After 16 years as a Tyler glass faculty member, Anna helped develop Salem Community College’s (NJ) glass art program and chaired its International Flameworking Conference. She has been a visiting artist at numerous universities and taught at glass schools, including the Corning Museum of Glass, Pittsburgh Glass Center, Urban Glass and Pilchuck as well as venues in Belgium, Switzerland, Turkey, and Japan.
