Glass has always interested me. In 2002, after trying stained glass and lampworking, I found fusing – and my passion. I began by making jewelry and, after a variety of workshops and classes, I began working on larger items: bowls, plates, wall hangings and other items.
I love to play with colors and geometric patterns while creating something simple but elegant or whimsical. The Sonoran desert, where I was born and raised, is one of my favorite themes. I like to explore space, an interest based on many of my working years. Leaves fascinate me, as do faces.
Glass is a wonderful, challenging medium, and I’m always experimenting, pushing its limits. To show off the results, I recycle boxes and frames whenever possible.
I belong to a variety of organizations, including the International Association of Astronomical Artists, the Sonoran Arts League and the Tucson Mountains Artist Collective. My work is in galleries in Tucson, Tubac and Richmond, Virginia.
