After three decades working as a chef, I segued my skills of cooking food into cooking glass instead. I am a confessed color junkie. My pieces are colorful, and are intended to elicit joy. I work primarily with sheet glass and small particles of glass called frit which come in a variety of sizes from gravel, to sand, to powder. The glass is cut and a design is created. It then goes in a kiln, to be fused. It is heated anywhere from 1300 – 1600 degrees. Many of my pieces require several firings in the kiln, and are composed of several layers.
