On Monday evening, Arizona Glass Alliance will host a presentation by a young, inventive glass artist, Margaret Spacapan. Presently Margaret works out of Pittsburgh Glass Center and also serves as their Outreach Coordinator. Margaret’s work has been exhibited at the Chautauqua Institution, Erie Art Museum, Morgan Contemporary Glass Gallery, the State Museum of Pennsylvania, as well as a special exhibition at SOFA 2014.

Margaret describes her work this way: “The area of factories and abandoned buildings that separated the city from my neighborhood as a child inspire me; places where there are not people living. There is only concrete, and so the factories and abandoned buildings rely on the architecture to speak for the landscape. It is these voids in this scenery and the forms of these buildings, structures and objects that influence my work.”

An image of Margaret and one of her pieces is shown below. To learn more about Margaret and her work take a look at her website, www.margaretspacapan.com. To reserved your spot for an interesting evening, please emailĀ Fred Schomer.
